I on mailing lists for a million shops, and Texas has the best. They all have many things going on all the time, and scads of beautiful fabric many on sale. Have fun.

Painted Pony In La Porte, southeast side of beltway-8, is great. Large variety of fabric and notions.

Leaving in two days, (portable) GPS is loaded with addresses - let's see how many shops I can get to! :-)

GRS is the only quilt shop I keep going back to. I LOVE it in that place. If you go there, make sure to also check the sale building (a separate structure, you walk through the back yard of the main shop to get to it) for really good markdowns.

I shop at Quiltworks- it's at 290 and Skinner Road. I haven't ventured out to find other shops yet, so thanks for the suggestions.

If you are coming over Easter weekend, you may want to check with the shops- Quiltworks' website says they will be closed ALL weekend (starting 3pm Thursday, opening again monday). Hate for you to drive all over Houston and everything's closed
