Day and Night Eleanor Burns has a book out and I believe it comes with a template, maybe not.

I made a sampler quilt using different black and white fabrics and put a patch of color in each block. Then I surrounded each block with a complimentary color taking a one inch strip and folding it in half and sewing it around the block. the little bit of color was really very striking on the black and white quilt. Sorry I don't have a picture to show you.

Really easy pattern (Turning Twenty) uses 20 FQ's
{the black border was additional yardage}

My DGD did one and the pattern was "Charms Thursday" free download of the Moda site. I'm in the process of doing a Wedding Quilt that is a Star Sampler (random free star patterns of various websites) in black and white. A friend of mine did a black and white log cabin, which was quite stunning. Almost any pattern can be adapted to using black and white. There are so many black and white prints/white and black prints out there. Have fun and pictures please when done!
