My last two quilts were halfway decent with QAYG.
I have too much trouble putting the sammich together on the entire quilt and too hard to rassle with them on my DSM so until I did QAYG mine were kind of messy. Hard to be enthused if they don't turn out well.
I decided to try QAYG and poked around forums, looked at videos and whatnot and finally took the plunge and just went all Nike on that stuff!
What I did was after I quilted and squared all the blocks up I put blocks together to make rows then put rows together.
I sewed the back together first, right sides together, pinned in place and pinning the front out of the way. I used 1/4 SA.
Then I flipped it over after removing pins and folded one side over onto the other side by 1/4 and stitched it down.
Not perfect, but hey that's what decorative stitching is for.
I did it this way because I was too chicken to do sashing.
I'll have to get over that though.
