My sister gave me a gift subscription to Quilters Newsletter for my birthday in 1978. I kept up the subscription until about 2005, when I didn't have time to read magazines, and figured I had a lifetime of patterns!
My new quilt guild here in WA has a magazine exchange table, from which I enjoy an occasional Quiltmaker or Love of Quilting.

Wonder if QN will give refunds on subscriptions? I do not like Quilting Arts which is what they want to send us instead.

I have only subscribed to BLOCK since publication began. It's a beautiful magazine, more like a quality paperback book, and has wonderful photos and instructions. Every issue is a keeper!

I am not big on quilting magazines. Every so often I've bought a single copy of a particular issue, but the only one I have an annual subscription to is American Quilter -- the one you get included with AQS membership.

I had stopped all my magazine subscriptions once I received my first issue Primitive Quilts and Projects. Recently I had seen (and purchased) for the first time Simply Vintage magazine - love, love, love this publication and do plan on subscribing.

I stopped all my subscriptions last year when I realized I only had time to flip through them the day they came and rarely used any of the patterns. I belong to 2 guilds that sell magazines for a quarter at retreats, so I usually bring home a stack to look through. Usually a year or two old, but that doesn't bother me. There are also tons of free patterns on the Internet and my local library has a couple of quilting mags.
Before I stopped my subscriptions, my favorites were Love of Quilting, McCall's Quick Quilts, and Block.

I no longer get any magazines either, like Jan in VA, except for American Quilter which is part of my American Quilters Society membership too. I've picked up bundles of magazines at a quilt show for $1 or $2 to browse through. Now that I'm done with them, I plan on bringing them to one of our local quilt shops - they put out free magazines for customers and this time I'll be making a contribution.

I recently picked up an issue of Quilting Quickly by Fons and Porter. There are 6 patterns I'm interested in making... and I don't even usually like precuts! That being said, I almost never purchase magazines (this one was $10). I do subscribe to Block Magazine, but the last one had nothing I was interested in. It's hit and miss.. I guess

I love the Sampler that visits LQS around the country--even old copies. I know I'll never get to visit most of the shops but the magazine does a nice job of telling all about them and the owners.
