I'm ready to quilt my Bargello wall hanging. I've attached the borders since I posted this picture last night in the Pictures section and I have my "sandwich" ready to quilt but I'm not sure what looks good on a Bargello design. I don't think I want a lot of quilting to take away from the design but I'm not sure and I'd appreciate suggestions. Thanks.

I would do a simple stitch that follows the flow of your design with maybe a diagonal line thru the blocks that would enhance the direction. On your borders you could use just about any design that you like or if there is a detail in one of the fabrics that you used that you want to repeat. I am sure it will look wonderful no matter what you choose.

This is what I would suggest. You could do a search at the top of the page for bargellos and see what comes up. There's a picture of one bargello that just takes my breath away. The quilting is basic but stunning. Just from looking at the quilting makes me want to try one of these. Good luck.

quilterguy...I did go to the Pictures search for the Bargello's but I couldn't really see the quilting on them. Thanks for the suggestions.

Most bargello's I have seen have been quilted diagonally through each piece and it makes it flow

I will see if I can find it for you. It's a beautiful queen size quilt on an "what looks to me like" antique bed. There is a woman in the picture. I'm sure she is the quilter. It's stunning.

OK, I finally found it. Here's where the quilt is located. I hope you enjoy this picture. I slept on it and thought about it and with the new features at the top I went to My Posts and just looked to where I had already commented on it and just copied the link here for you.
