I don't have problems quilting with sheets as long as they are mostly cotton..had a customer bring a 100% rayon and i had to very careful not to pull too tight so it would not stretch but at the end there were some pucker.

I use sheets all the time and my APQS Lenni doesn't mind one little bit. I'm using a size 18 needle and Glide thread..

my needle matches the thread, but sometimes they are a denser weave and need to be treated more like a batik backing--which for me means a little looser on the frame.

I have head countless times by so called experts , don't use a sheet for backing a quilt. They say it is hard to quilt , but I have never had a problem. There is an old saying, "Tell me not to do something and I will do it twice and take pictures.
