I notice some of you use quitling software to design your quilts. I looked at one, EQ, but my gosh, it's so expencive and no free trial. Are there any free software programs out there? I doubt there is, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I'd love design my own quilts and possibly sell them in the future.

Thanks!!

I received an email about this site. I checked it out and thought it might be good for someone who doesn't have a quilting software program. You can try it out and see what you think!

I have EQ but I have been getting it for many, many years, in fact since it first came out in the early 90s, so upgrade is not as expensive. They do have a basic program call Quilt Design Wizard for $30.00. You might find it cheaper from another source. We have Jo Anns fabric, they carry it and with a 40% off coupon it is cheaper. Or sign up with JoAnns online and they have online coupons every week. Last week it was 50% off any regular priced item.

just a quick note. Joanns won't let you use the coupon on software. That includes the $30 wizard.

However, they do put it on sale every so often. And if you just want a basic program to start with, I think the Design wizard is great.

Interesting. I am looking at my coupon from Jo Anns, the exclusions only list, digital picture frames, sewing machines, machine and cartridges, cricuts, classes, american greetings and special services, nothing about software. Did they wait to tell you this at check out?

I ordered the Quilt Wizard (recent software) from ebay in its original package for less than $30! I'm waiting for it. I got it through the paypal system which is better. I'm excited and I'll pm u and let u know the results!

shaverg- this goes back a year or so. Maybe they changed it. It was listed right online. It was an online coupon.

Hi Jen, I have the Quilt Wizard, got it maybe a month ago. I've not used it a whole lot yet, but it's fun to just play with too! I bought it right from the EQ site, and they had really fast shipping too! :D

I started with quilt wizard and loved it. It is easy to work with and so much fun. The price is great. I have moved on to EQ6 and it is very similar with alot more options. I still use my quilt wizard. They each have their place. And both are fun.
