Thank you all for your suggestions. Meyert - I really like the cross hatching. And, thanks for the tip to quilt from the back.

Perfect timing for this post... I have been waiting to rent a long arm so I can finish a t-shirt quilt but after seeing Mayert's I think I'll just do mine on my 6600 too.

Just finished two for my grand daughters. Did what Carslo said. Meandered all over. Powered through everything, no problems with machine or stitches. I have a Baby lock quilters choice professional. Used a large top stitch needle. My quilts looked exactly like myerts. Very happy with the results.

I have done 2 t-shirt quilts for my neighbor. I did pantograms on both of them and had NO problem stitching through any of it. I used invisible thread because there were so many different colors of shirts. They really liked them. Good luck.

Hi, I have made a few Tshirt quilts and made then qayg. Because I cannot free motion quilt I usually follow any curves, spacing between lines until whole shirt is done. Another l might go around the letters if not too much lettering and then add lines or square within square. I found doing something different on each Tshirt added a little depth to the quilts. Only problem l've found with my method of qayg is that the joins are not nearly as perfect as l would have wanted them. But l have found another way of joining which l am eager to try. Would love to see your quilt.

On my DGS baseball t-shirt quilt I outlined stitched the logos and then did a medium meander. On one of the narrow borders I used a built in "fly" stitch on my machine. I thought it resembled the stitching on a baseball. The red shirt in the center is a baseball jersey, rather than a t-shirt and I left on part of the neckline and the buttons.

Wanted to add, I do FMQ on my DSM, Pfaff 2134

I did my first t-shirt quilt a few months ago for a neighbors daughter, I free motioned stippling on the shirts, came out really nice, if I say so myself, she loved it. I practiced on left over tshirt pieces first, to see if I could get the look I wanted.
