Hi, I am new to this Quilter's Message Board.

I am making a baby quilt with the log cabin pattern, but the center is a 4 1/2 block of teddy bears. My question is : will it be ok to stitch in the ditch by machine on the logs and hand quilt in the center. Thank you

Hi! I think your quilting plan sounds find. I recently did something simiar. I used stitch in the ditch to machine stitch and then my dd, who loves to do hand quilting, went back and did that within the blocks for more detail. It turned out great.

I really like projects that have combined methods, like stitch in the ditch and hand quilting. You are surely on to a great start. Ya gotta show us the finished quilt! S.

I think that's a fine thing to do. If you love it...it works! :) Just have fun. I'd love to see a pic of it later.
