I love it when I am doing chicken scratch, embroidered redwork or yo-yo's so I can do it while I am in the car also. I am addicted. Have a wonderful time and treasure the visit with your Mom. Would love to be able to visit with my Mom one more time.

I would too, my mother has been gone 20 years now and I still miss her everyday. Be sure to treasure your time you have with yours. My mother and I were best friends, never a cross word between us. I sometimes still talk with her when I really need something, and feel her near, but just cant't get a physical hug anymore.

My aunt and I are planning a vacation on Kauai next summer (just a hop and a skip for me as I'm on Oahu). I have a pair of featherweights we plan to take with us. Going to do lots of sightseeing during the day and sewing in the evenings!

Once a year my husband and I go on vacation to North Bend State Park in WV. I take machines, iron, ironing board, sewing table, fabric, etc and have a great vacation working on a quilt. DH helps in all kinds of ways that he is never able to at home. He's too busy. But he's my enabler 100% of the time! LOL Love that week!

humbird - it's true that it is indeed a small world! Do you live near or far from your hometown? I grew up in Upstate NY and am now very far from there. But, I love AZ just the same!

Hi Caroltee - if you are interested in connecting, send me a PM. I've met another quilter close to me this way!
