I took a beginner class a couple of years ago at LQS, and she taught us to use a grapefruit spoon (the one with a serrated (SP?) tip) to help get the pins closed. Worked like a charm. She was always on the lookout for the spoons on sale or at thrift stores.

awesome, my friend sent me the kwik klip tool and now I just need to buy some safety pins

Do you use the regular safety pins or curved ones?

Thanks!
