I have done a spiral diamond and it turned out great. I'll get a picture to show you all.

I haven't had time to take her class yet but plan too. I have spoken to her on the phone and purchased her book and she was both helpful and charming.

I looked at the photos, and just can't understand how it's done. Paper pieced?

Encouraged by your responses here, I emailed RaNae a couple of questions. Her response so far has been clear, prompt and yes I agree, charming. If I book her course I'll let you know about my experience.

sylvia77, I'm eagerly awaiting your pic... If you post it in Pictures, maybe link to it here?

As spirals are paper-pieced, I've added this thread to the PP virtual section.

I signed up for the newsletter and also saved her website on the computer. For signing up, I was sent a pattern for a "neck pocket with a spiral design. The template was also included with wonderful directions. I am going to try to make this. I think this is a wonderful introduction to spiral quilting to do it this way. Thanks for giving us all the info.

Yes, it's all paper piecing. I've got the book Logcabin with a twist by Barbara Kaempfer and it's the same thing that she does. It isn't that hard. What's hard is keeping the colors straight as that determines your block. I used a color sheet and went by that to keep everything in order or else you'll get lost and confused. I'm going to take that picture now. Hopefully I'll have it on her shortly.
