I am just about finished a quilt which I am giving as a present and find that it has some blood stains (I must have cut my finger when working) on a blue part of the border. Any tips on how to remove these stains? They are dry and rather unsightly! Oh dear!!

half peroxide and half water usually works.run the water through it to make sure the blood does not settle on the back. Some people swear by good old spit, too. Whatever you do, keep it away from heat that would set it forever.

Since it's yours you use your on saliva and hope it comes out. try this first, if it doesn't use a clear dish soap and rub it in then rise with cokd water. Hope this helps.

You will get a lot of excellent ideas about this, because it's not the first blood stain problem to crop up on this QB. I can't remember the solutions, but you could do a "Search".

I get blood out by rubbing it with an ice cube. I've only taken out small spots, but all of it came out.

I have heard of using your own saliva. I don't know if it works or why.

My saliva didn't work on mine, but peroxide and water did. Like Moonpi said, be sure to rinse well.

Well, If I bleed all over my quilt, get the peroxide. I am not allowed to spit..lol..My Mom said ladies don't spit, I am afraid if she knew she would jump out of nowhere and get me. :P *looks around for Mom*

I have used Shout Max on blood stains, as long as they are not older then a couple of months, they usually come out, just follow directions on bottle.

I use Oxi Clean make a little paste and work it out. I would be worried that peroxide may change the coloring of the fabric.
