What do you use to clean your cutting mat? What cleaning products are appropriate for this use?

Do you have something specific to clean off of it or just in general?

To just surface clean my Olfa mat, I use a hot water dampened cloth, wipe then dry off, every so often.

If you have something more stubborn and need to use something stronger, check the manufacturer's website to find a safe alternative.

I use a mild dish soap, rinse and dry my mat. I have had a couple of pen marks that I used a baking soda paste to remove.

you're supposed to clean them?? LOL I just wipe of with damp paper towel. And I used a sticky roller once in awhile if there are a lot of fuzzies on it.

Omigosh! I've never cleaned mine! :oops: I don't think I can bear the shame of having grubby quilts because I didn't know to clean the mat!! ;)

I have never cleaned mine either. I haven't found any of my fabric dirty either. Mine sits on the table all the time.

I bought one of the mat cleaners, I don't know what they call them, it is round and has like sandpaper on the bottom. It takes off the fuzz from cutting and works really good. My mat doesn't have a smell, has your been wet or something?

I was curious so I took a clean white scrap and rubbed it on my mats and nothing came off. Do you really need to clean your mat?
