Default Rowan Fabrics / Kaffe Fasset fabric layercake

I purchased a layercake of Kaffe Fasset fabrics at a recent quilt show from an out-of-town vendor and when I opened it up at home discovered that not a single one was 10" on each side. All were bowed, and as much as 1/2" off.

When I contacted the vendor via email I received no response at all. I then contacted Rowan Fabrics directly and they were fabulous! Great customer service, willingness to help, very friendly in their communications. They have contacted the original vendor and instructed them to issue me a refund. Rowan will then reimburse the vendor as soon as I let them know that I've received the refund.

Kudos to Rowan Fabrics - I'll make sure to look for their fabrics in the future.

What great customer service! It is really sad that when you buy pre-cuts, they aren't always accurate. That why I prefer to cut my own strips when possible.

Wow, I can't remember hearing about that level of service. Kudos to both of you!

I always assumed (you know where that gets me!) that precuts were done with a machine, so I just thought they'd be ... well... perfect.

Scary for someone like me who may not have measured a precut before using it.

I'm very happy for you with your outcome.....very nice to hear these days!

That's really nice to hear. Frowny face to the vendor who sold you the bad ones

They are cut by machine, but I know with my GO cutter, if I put too many layers of fabric in it they tend to shift and the cuts come out bowed.

So did Rowan cut them, or did the vendor cut them?

    Default Rowan Fabrics Update

Here's the update: Rowan Fabrics is sending me a new layer cake and the original vendor has emailed me with an apology and asking for my address to refund me the $38.50.

This is absolutely the best customer service I've ever experienced from any company.

I bought a layer cake from Missouri Star Quilt Company and the size was 9 1/4 inches. I called them and they were surprised, but nothing was offered in return. Then I called The company in NYC and they said no way, measured and were surprised too, but nothing happened. So my plan to make a certain quilt had to be changed. I was very disappointed. You had a very good return for your money.

Hoffman's did one better.....their supposedly 2.5 inch bali batik jelly rolls were 2.25 inch and 2.4 and 2.5.....I had already cut my squares and pieced numerous sets of 4 before realizing the problem.....not only did they send me the jelly rolls laser cut this time, they wanted to know if I would like backing batik to finish my quilt....they sent me 8 1/2 yards of beautiful batik to match my colors. Wow, was I surprised...great service from them and Nancy's notions.
