Also prefer the smaller, 24 " usually too long but sometimes use. Most used 4 and half by 14

My lip rulers are my most used, I have 3 sizes
    3x18, 5x24 and 4x36.

After those three than it all depends on what I
am wanting to do will decide what size ruler that
    I will use.

I use my oddball O'lipfa 45 Angle Ruler; 5"X14". The point on it makes it easy to pick up. Should get a new one as the numbers are getting worn. Haven't been able to find one at JoAnn's.

6x12 and 6x6. Those I can't do without. I have a large one for squaring up blocks too but wish I had one a little smaller.

6x24 ruler is the one I use the most. Had to buy a second one wore the printed lines off the first one.

I have a metal yardstick and a metal framing square I stold from my DH. I don't have to worry about cutting chunks out of them with my rotary cutter - however, I have learned they can dull a blade reallly quickly. Haha
