It's turning out so nice.... good job. Those quilts made from hexis take so long to make. I did one of the grandmother's flower garden quilts as one of my 1st quilts..... what a learning experience. But, I do love the quilt. Do keep us informed of your progress and snap pics as well.

Sheri, glad to see you're using all of grandma's fabrics. After all the quilts you made for the grandkids your daughter surely deserves this special one, time-consuming as it may be. It's going to be lovely!

I am also doing Grandmother's flower garden but with 1930's reproduction fabric. Your hexis look great!

My first GFG was done with the traditional flower pattern which you start with a center and add 6, then 12 then 18 then attach them together with a background path. I am also working on a table runner from Lynnie's quilt pattern and find that I am sewing by the row. What ever is the easiest way for you to do, that is what I would go with.

My Mom and I just finished one similar to yours. We stitched them in rows the desired length and then stitched the rows together all by hand. It was given to my DD for her birthday last month. Sorry I don't have photo at the moment.
