I went to my local quilt shop and looked at the featherweight. He had one with a scroll plate and one with a plain plate. I fell in love with the plain "Miss Lizzie". She has a case that looks good with no musty smell and is perfect except for a tiny bit of fading in the gold in one place. She's home now and is resting. I have bobbins, the 1/4 inch foot and we're ready to sew. Off to lunch so i can get back to her and try her out. The price was as good as e-bay and I got to meet her first.

I was so lucky. Everythng just fell into place. I called my LCS to ask how much a tune up would be since a lot of the machines on E-bay ran but hadn't been used for awhile. When i called he said he had 2 Featherweights there. He hadn't even checked them over yet. He tuned them up last night and I was there when they opened at 10. I was sure I was going to buy the scroll plate but he got Miss Lizzie out first and it was love at first sight. I'm so excited.

Actually it was the first time I ever saw one and I couldn't believe how small they are. Now I just need to figure out how the bobbin comes out, how to fill the bobbin, and how to thread the machine. I didn't get a manuel with it but i saw one on line that I'm going to print out.
