I am trying to piece this block together and I am having the hardest time with the flying geese portion...this is the link to the pattern I am doing:

http://www.quilterscache.com/I/IndianStarBlock.html

Can someone please help me? I am trying to get this completed for my mom for the quilts she is doing for my sister and the other military members she is deploying with....

what problem are you having specifically. There are several things that could go wrong in the process of putting the block together.

I can see where it may be confusing. It doesn't look right at first, but once you do exactly as it says it all comes out right.

llcox...I did what it says/shows (or at least I think I am from reading it and looking at the diagram) but something just isn't working out right...on one the points crossed in the middle and won't open up and the other is too long on the side. If there was an easier way to do this I would be happy as can be! Of course my teacher isn't rt here with me so I am having some issues....

Do you sew one side on and the press that before sewing the other side?

I think they should overlap by 1/4" as that is your seam allowance, when you sew it together otherwise you would loose all your points it you didn't have that.

Hope this is as clear as mud lol

after sewing the 1st square on to the rectangle, did you press it back before sewing on the 2nd square?
