Hi,

Not that I don't have enough to do with my upcoming quilt classes, my DH suggested that I make a quilt for his beloved aunt (and unofficial grandma to my son). Great minds and all that...I'd come across this fabric a few weeks ago and immediately thought of her.

I love the blues, but the yellow tones in her house are bright primary yellows. What do you think of these more sandy colored tones?

TIA.

It seems to me that the less bright yellows would blend in nicely with the brighter yellows of a home, that is a beautiful fabric line.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I'm excited to start looking for a pattern that will use these fabrics to their best advantage.

Since it's just an hour away, I might even drive down to the designer's shop in Hyannis, MA for some ideas!!

I was watching HGTV yesterday and one of the shows said something I really liked. When you pick out a color for a room, include lighter and darker tones of the same color to give it more richness of color.

I think the blues will make the yellows in your quilt pop more since they are complementary colors and that line of fabric will work well with her house. It doesn't have to match, just go together.

I have been looking for a "beachy" type fabric for a beach tote. The blue shell one would be perfect! Do you know if people can order from that website? It said it is for retailers.

That sounds like a great project.

It's the manufacturer's web site so I don't think they take orders. Some independents do sell over the internet though.

The collection won't be out until March 1.
