My daughter has asked me to make her a quilt with gears for an office wallhanging. Any suggestions for a pattern with gears? - you know, that round thingee with a hole in the middle that makes everthing work -- ex: clock gears, etc. They come in all sizes.

I have seen fabric with clock works in it, gears, hands, etc...
You could also applique different gears onto blocks :D:D:D

Also check www.urbanthreads.com and search for "steampunk" in the various categories. They are a machine embroidery company but also have hand embroidery and clip art selections.
