I have been quilting for 25tears. I currently own a Janome QE. a Bernina QE , a APQS LA. I am trying to decide on a serger. Does anyone have any suggestions? Have looked them up in topics and recieved some help but any more help such as brand name, amount of sewwing heads, self threading and differential feed would be so helpful. At this time Iam in no rush so even a used machine is a possibility. Thank you all for your past help.

I'm not an expert but if you go to the Babylock web site, you will find several sergers that would fit the bill.

Dianne, the other night I was reading my 150 QE manual for learning to FMQ and it has a stitch that is a serger type. Did you know that???
I also found that mine does letters and numbers- I had no idea!! :D:D

I understand that some new sergers do both an overlock and coverlock stitch. (Hope I got those stitch names correct). Since I sew with fleece and knits for the grandkids, I would really like a coverlock stitch.

Baby Lock makes the best sergers on the market--jet air threading, easy to use and extremely dependable!

Threading sergers can be challenging, to say the least. I had a Pfaff serger that would bring me to tears if I broke a thread and had to thread it from scratch. Babylock has a line of sergers that are sort of self threading.

I have tried using those stitches on my Janome, but my DH does it better then I do.

I have a Viking and a Pfaff. I love my Pfaff, but I am thinking of trading the Viking in for one of the Baby Locks. I love the Jet air threading and so easy to change from one stitch to another.

Hi
I have a Pfaff. After I practiced threading it over and over now I can do it with my eyes closed (almost). I've had it for at least 16 years so its I'm sure theres more gee-wiz stuff out there now.

I had a demo of the Babylock with the jet air threading and if I ever get a serger it will be that kind.
