Default started a new wool crazy quilt

I decided to start a new crazy quilts- will wools- making a (calendar quilt) so i have January & February done-
i also started making paper cut applique blocks with wool (hawaiian applique) i really LOVE these! i am totally enjoying making these blocks. I draw the papercut design on freezer paper, press it to the wool- cut it out then applique it to a background block- I don't know what kind of quilt they may turn into for now i am just enjoying making the blocks i just love how they are turning out.
and i am putting to use some of the recycled wools i have filling the sewing room closet. everything is recycled---some of them i dyed- some are (natural- as they were when they were a piece of clothing) all has been washed in hot water, rinsed in cold, dried in a hot dryer---wool is without a doubt my favorite fiber to work with

Very very nice!! My local quilt group and I are in the midst of making crazy quilts, I am actually making 2 sets of squares, one for me and one for my mom...I have really enjoyed learning all of the Brazilian embroidery stitches, and seeing all the creative stitches and embellishments of others who enjoy this type of quilting. Your squares are great, and I look forward to seeing more of them!!

This really inspires me. I have had a green blazer, a navy jacket and a black skirt in the wash room for months trying to decide if I want to felt them, I think that's what you call it. Your blocks are so beautiful. I don't know how to do the freehand cutting of the hawaiin designs. Maybe you could do a tutorial for those who are interested in learning that technique. I am! Your work is great!

i do have a couple more freezer paper designs ready to put on wool for another (papercut) block- i will try to remember to take some pictures of the process and do a tutorial - it's not difficult- and there are books available of hawiian applique designs if you don't want to just draw your own. i will look some of those up too. i know i have a couple of them.
thanks for the compliments- i find hand/wool work so relaxing- i can just get lost blanket stitching around wool pieces.
