Does anyone out there use a linger futura CE-250 sewing and embroidery machine?
Jo-Ann has this on sale for $700.
Would love a Bernina or Janome but those way too expensive.
Is this singer user friendly? good product?

I've owned one for a few years now. If you have never used an embroidery machine you need to know that there is a learning curve with working with one. This machine will only work when in embroidery mode if it is hooked up to a computer. She's a bit picky about doing every step as outline in the manual and loves to be kept very clean. This machine will have everything you need to get you started for transferring designs and editing so no extras to buy. Well except threads and stabilisers. I have had no buyers regret with this machine.

The simple answer without saying anything really negative to ruffle feathers is: it sits in the back room and has not been used for a very looooong time.

I have the CE200 and like oldhag said, it likes to be kept lint free :D
They are also touchy about the bobbins, they are plastic, and the machine doesn't like it if they have the slightest rough spot or burr on the edges of them.
I just check the bobbin over well before and after filling, and it seems to have cured that issue.

I use it a lot and wish that I had the CE250 because of the bigger hoop available :D:D:D

I have a singer similar to this one and it is very touchy and I am not a fan of the embroidery. HSN.com has some good machines that if cost is an issue they have the monthly payments but I would really research this machine before buying. There is a thread about someone who purchased a singer and she liked it for sewing but not embroidery it was not perfect.
