Anyone know of a nice pattern for placemats and napkins? I was looking to get a kit from connecting threads but I didn't see anything...

You might also check into McCall's Quick Quilting, possibly June 2010 issue for pattern for placemats & napkins. I know they had one that was made with fruit pattern fabrics. Plus, they showed you how to bind using the backing by flipping & sewing.

Try Mc Calls or you could make up your own.

When my kids were small I would change out the kitchen curtins, placemats, napkins and stool covers, I made them as simple as possible.

The kids loved it from Shamrocks on St.Patty's to cake fabric on each of their birthdays, still puts a smile on my face when one of them talks about that.

Have you checked out Moda Bakeshop? They always have fun patterns for pre-cut fabric that are usually quick and easy.

Good heavens. Pick your favorite block, add a strip to each end or maybe to just the silverware end and add a pocket for the silverware.

    use any block you like!

I have a huge selection of placemat links on my personal site.. O haven't started making a list of napkin links - I'll work on that today! I was wondering what my next research topic would be :)
