I am very active with my sons old school and I am still a member of the PTO. Every year we have a spring and fall yard sale. This weekend is the sale and I am working getting everything organized and priced well as I was going through some of the bags of clothes and bedding I found a beautiful hand sewn quilt.

I know the lady who donated the things and was wondering why she would give up a family heirloom. But she said she had way too many things in her home and if I wanted it she would be honored knowing that I had it.

Of course I will make a sizable donation to the PTO fund raiser like I always do so its not like I am getting it for free.

Last fall I missed a nearly brand new Singer 500A in a maple cabinet with all of the accessories for $25. Oh well I picked up a treadle and a Singer 27 the year before for $15!

I will post photos of it when I bring it home Saturday. I am soooo Happy!!!!

Seriously, Billy. You could fall into a pile of crap and come up smelling like a rose. And I mean that in the best sense ;) congrats on your find!

What a wonderful find. That's being in the right place at the right time. I can't wait to see the pic.

That is so true...also, it is true that you make your own good luck:

..."I am very active with my sons old school and I am still a member of the PTO."

It helps to help others....
