Size of Storage Bag for Quilts
#1
I am almost finished with a retirement quilt for a friend retiring in May and thought I could make a gift/storage bag from the scraps. I remember from another thread that many of you make pillowcases or other bags for your quilts. Do you recommend a flat, pillowcase type bag or something more like a grocery tote bag. Do you line your pillowcase/bags or leave them a single layer. The quilt is 46" x 71", something with which to curl up on the couch. In fact, she gave me a swatch of her couch fabric to use to coordinate the fabric. I may need to use additional fabric, maybe a solid, depending on the size of the bag. I really appreciate your input.

Lookup pillow case tutorial on youtube under missouri star quilt company. That is what I use for all my quilts plus it can be used by them when they "unpack" the quilt. It will be plenty large for that size quilt. If not cut the body of the pillowcase longer.:)

Does it need to be big enough for her to stuff it in quickly and make it disappear? Zippered or buttoned? Front solid and back overlapping? in this case the bag/cushion should more than a little but match the couch.
