Red face Sometimes do you just want an easy quilt to look at

Sometimes do you just want an easy quilt to look at. I love scrappy quilts and bright colors and just about all quilts I see, but sometimes I would like to see some that are restful to the eyes. A simple pattern with some solids mixed in with the prints, etc., and a nice soothing color. How about you?

I have a couple of them that I can get out when I need something soothing to look at. So my answer would be yes.

Yes, I know what you mean. Maybe this is why this line of fabric and pattern appealed to me so much - I think it's restful while still being dynamic.

Sometimes busy quilts do make me tired!! Simple quilts have a very soothing quality.

i think that's what is so appealing to the simpler quilts made with 30's fabric.

I think that's why quilts with lots of white space appeal to us so often.

AndiR - that is a beautiful quilt pattern, but it doesn't seem particularly restful to me. The strong black lines keep my eyes moving around the quilt. It's interesting that what appears as restful to one person does not appear the same way to another.

Dunster, I like white in quilts, too! And oddly enough, I haven't made any with a good bit of white in them. But! ... that is about to change!
