I use our old small kitchen table in my sewing room for cutting and it always killed my back when I had a lot to do because I had to bend over the whole time. We picked up a set of the bed risers at WalMart yesterday and now it's the perfect height!!! No more sore back from cutting! :-) Yay me!

Ah I had picked up some of them after using blocks. The blocks worked good but I kept stubbing my toe on them LOL Happy Cutting!

OMG - fabulous idea! I have a set of those in our storage room - leftover from when our DD used them in her college dorm room to raise her bed.

Why did you wait so long? I used bricks until I found an adjustable height table. To low a cutting table is pure torture. I don't love quilting enough to use a low cutting table. LOL

How much higher do the risers make your table? I am tall and have a back problem..if only I could raise my kitchen sink/counter higher! Will look into this soonest!

some people buy PVC pipes cut to the length needed.

Those risers are worth way more than what you pay for them - mine rise 7½", I think - they come in different sizes, from 3" - 8".

I bought an inexpensive table and added the plastic tubes/pipes. DH cut them to the proper height for me. They slip off and on so I can use the table at regular height, too, when needed.
