You certainly do!!

Isn't it wonderful how simple solutions can mean so much?

well, be sure and don't forget the risers are there and lean on the table. ask me how i know that. i think i fell about 3 times wrestling that table all the way down till i hit the floor on top of the overturned table. fortunately didn't hurt myself.

I bought one of those tall kitchen tables and four tall chairs about two years ago on sale. I figured if I didn't like them so tall, I could cut off the legs. I found that it works perfectly for me to do my cutting. The table is 36 inches high; as high as my kitchen counters. I'm 5'8". We really like that table in our kitchen.

I am 5'9" and have always had so much back trouble when cutting and in reading this I turned to my DH and said guess when this woman's DH did for her and he said "I can do that for you." So thank you for the excellent idea with the PVC pipe and also the lady that mentioned the caps to save on the floor! I would have never thought of that. I've been doing a lot of sewing this year since diagnosed with lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma and have chemo treatments weekly so sewing is the perfect thing to keep my mind busy on something else!! Thank you to all of you for the daily sewing tips and lovely pictures of all your beautiful quilts. I look forward to it.

What a great idea! Never occurred to me. I had my husband make me really tall cutting table because my back just could not take it anymore. He did not understand that this was an emergency on my part. He took the hint after I took over the the island in the kitchen. Beeing a foodie he realized that there will be no cooking as long as the fabric occupies the kitchen. I love my tall cutting table and my husband who made it.

For anyone who wants to lift their table higher but do not have risers all you need is four coffee cups that are the same, the lip on the bottom makes a great platform for the table legs and the top of the cup makes it sturdy.

Found out after two sessions that yoga was not for me so I put my nice thick yoga mat on the floor by my cutting table and it sure helps on my feet and legs.
