Default spinoff to "talking quilts"

Have you seen the ad for a talking quilt label? I saw it recently in a magazine but can't find it now and google didn't help either. Evidently you can record information about the quilt on the web then put the website on your quilt label and recipients can go to that site and listen to you talk about the quilt. Sound's like a cool idea, especially for someone who's into techy stuff...or kids.

When I read your title I thought it would be about a label with a recordable talking sound module, like they use in greeting cards. (Wonder what would happen to that in the laundry!) I think I will stick to a printed label. It might fade, but at least it won't depend on an internet site always being there, or technology not changing so much that the recording will no longer work.

My four year old GGS is wanting a "talking quilt". He loves to watch me quilt and make his own quilts. I have been trying to figure out how to use one of the talking card things.

if nothing else, it would help document quilts in a central location.

one way to use them is to add a small pocket to the front of the square where the battery and "recorder" can go..these of course have to come out when the quilt is washed, but if you mark the inside of the pocket with a number or letter and mark the recorder with the same number/letter you'll know where to put it back afterward.
