I've tried spray basting with poly batting and it doesn't work; I wonder if it will with Hobbs 80/20. I know there's some other brand out there (mail order only for me and I want to use what I have = June Tailor). It says "best with cotton batting." Does anybody have experience with this?

I use spray baste with poly batting and I haven't had a problem. After spraying I usually add about 10-12 pins mostly around the edges (my own insecurity) but they're probably not necessary.

I use spray baste with 80/20 all the time. But I gave up on the June Tailor baste a few years ago , it did not seem to hold as well as other brands ... plus the fumes just got to me.

I'm with you Lori, it's worth a couple extra bucks to breathe at the same time!

The only shop near me that carries the adhesive spray has only Sulky it worked well for me. Very little smell, almost odorless.

I've not had trouble with the June Tailor spray baste holding on poly, either.

I have also used June Tailor spray with 80/20 and even regular poly batting.

If it isn't holding for you, try spraying more on it. I think you need to use little more of the June Tailor spray to get a good hold.

I use spray all the time on poly batt -- must be the spray you use, or you aren't using enough spray.

The brand of spray seems to make a difference with cotton/poly and poly batting. I haven't seen anyone post a problem with 505 basting spray.
