Hi, I'm hoping for some advice, we were packing up a spare bedroom in my MIL's house to get it ready to redo the floors, nobody has really been in there for about 10 years, we found a hand appliqued quilt under the bed and it looks as tho one of her cats may have had kittens on it (huge "blood" stain?) It is a twin size quilt and the stain covers about a 1/4 of it? any hints, advice or tips I would love to hear them

Awesome cleaner has worked well for me... saturate the fabric and let it sit for a few days, respraying in the morning and evening. The stain usually will disappear. Then you will need to wash it.

I would put in tub of cold water and let it soak that is good for blood Maybe someone else will have more to this

try peroxide. It will bubble it out. Fresh that is. It may take most of an old stain out and then maybe wash it and use oxy-clean along with your detergent.

Try Goo Gone, spray on and let set over night and wash the next day. Works great to get stains and gum, tar etc. out.

I also use Awesome cleaner. You can find it in big jugs at Walmart. Dollar store also sells it, but I have found the sprayers don't always work. Get a good spray bottle and invest in Awesome. One of the cheapest best cleaners around. Cleans up built on grease fantastically! And built on soap scum in bathtubs.

peroxide is what i have always used to remove blood stains- takes them out of carpeting very well- i just put the peroxide on the area- it foams as it breaks down the blood- blot with a clean white cloth or paper towel- reapply if necessary- we used to own a pet store- we learned lots about stuff like that= i've never had a problem with it discoloring or any ill effects

I did a cold water wash with oxy clean tonight, and tomorrow I am going to start trying all these remedies, I didn't dry it I am just going to leave it damp and spread it out on my dining room table and pretreat the bad areas, if I cant get it out I will cut it down to a lap quilt I would just rather be able to put it on her hospital bed
