peroxide is what i have always used to remove blood stains- takes them out of carpeting very well- i just put the peroxide on the area- it foams as it breaks down the blood- blot with a clean white cloth or paper towel- reapply if necessary- we used to own a pet store- we learned lots about stuff like that= i've never had a problem with it discoloring or any ill effects
