Cool Aussie coming to USA - Looking for patchwork shops

Hi, I am from Australia and we are flying to the USA next week.
I am looking for patchwork shops, fabric warehouses, addresses and how to find them in the following cities. Also is there any exhibitions on in these cities in the next few weeks. We will be travelling around for a while so any info would be fantastic. Also any websites for these shops would be handy.

Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Anaheim, San Diego, Salt Lake City, New York, Washington.

If any of you can help me here it would be really great. I can print out the addresses so I can go straight to the shops. Time will be of the essence so I don't have to hunt around when I get to these cities.

Thank you so much.

Is Washington the City, or the state? If state which side will you be on?

Los Angeles (These 2 shops are about 30-45minutes away but well worth the trip)-The fabric patch in montclair (http://www.thefabricpatch.com/) and ginger's quilt shoppe in upland (http://www.gingersquiltshoppe.com/). These 2 shops are about 5minutes distance from each other. Gingers is closed mondays so if you want to see both on the same day choose a different day

Las Vegas-Fabric Boutique(http://www.fabricboutique.com/wp/)
Very big beautiful shop with lots of choices, only been there twice but loved it.

All three have very friendly helpful staff and a nice array of choices hope you get a chance to see all 3

Hi Glenda - in New York City there's only one quilt shop, The City Quilter on 25th Street, where the feeling of "I want everything" is likely to come over you. Streets in New York are mostly numbered so it's easy to get around. Avenues are numbered also (2nd, 3rd etc.) but there are a few with names. Any city map will help you. There are wonderful trimming shops on Avenue of the Americas (same as 6th Avenue) in the 30's and a lot of excellent fabric shops around 40th and 41st off 8th Avenue, mainly for apparel fabric but some quilting fabric available. Not knowing your preference, you might love all the unusual and exotic fabrics in that area. I used to have a website that would be helpful and will try and find it. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy EVERYTHING!!!

My grandson recently took a job in Australia and he absolutely loves living there.

Thank you so much for this information ladies. I will look up these websites tomorrow. That gives me quite a bit of info and a starting point when I get to the United States. We are also going to Vancouver and Edmonton. If there are any patchwork shops there I would appreciate it too. Thanks heaps.

Also we are going to Washington City.

Looks like everyone has hit my favorites in San Diego. Enjoy your trip! Are you bringing extra luggage or will you ship all the fabric you buy back to Australia?

If you are in San Diego on May 8th, that is when Sunshine Quilters guild meets and our speaker is Pat Speth with a workshop on Wednesday May 9th.

You welcome to come and listen or there may be openings in the workshop I think.

My favorite in the Los Angeles area is M & L Fabricks. Not so much a quilt shop but boy do they have the fabric! It's near Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. Address below.

3430 W Ball Rd
Anaheim, CA 92804

And I could kick myself for missing Big City Quilts when I was in New York a couple of years ago. Don't you miss it.

Will you be bringing extra luggage or shipping a big box home?
