Steam a Seam for binding
#14
hmmm... love it that there is always something new to discover on this Board. I have not seen or heard of this method but am very intrigued to try it on two projects that need a binding (a table runner and a baby charity quilt). I wonder if my LQS sells Steam a Seam?

Me too, what she said, and I am going to try this on a small quilt to test it out, thanks for the idea.

Love this idea. I always make a mess with glue no matter how careful I try to be.
Went to a class tonight and the instructor suggested using the narrow seam fusing tape to hold the binding down to the back after you've stitched it to the front. She then top stitched the front with a decorative stitch and the back stayed put because it was fused. Came straight home and tried it on the Fantasia Fracture (see in picture section). I'm sold! Anyone else do it this way?

I haven't tried it on bindings, however, when I make small quilts using the "burping" method, I like to fuse 1/2" Steam-A-Seam to close the hole left for turning and I think it makes the final product look better, even though I generally top stitch over it, no gaps.

Marge, what is the burping method?
