Wasn't sure where to put this but need help desperately!!!

Oldest daughter, while living in the rat trap place, got into a sticky situation. The apartment complex manager put sticky rat traps in ALL the apartments that were having problems with rats/mice. Didn't tell the tenents they were doing it either.
Well, she comes home to find her cat STUCK to this rat trap and after hours of cutting poor kitty out of trap and using everything she could think of to get the rest of the glue off kitty, she found the quilt I made her with glue all over it too!
Apartment complex manager put sticky rat traps in ALL the rooms and apparently kitty found #1 and put quilt on top of it or quilt fell on it or whatever.
Well....to make a long story short......
Any help/ideas how to get this glue OUT of the quilt? I put it in the washer with warm water, but it didn't dissolve the glue. The glue is sort of like Rubber Cement consistancey, but STICKY! Whereas rubber cement will just roll off, this stuff just rolls and sticks. I tried peanut butter, no use, and ice won't freeze it either.
HELP!!!!!!!!!

try Goo-Gone. or even try a small amount of WD40. I would try a small spot, but usually WD40 will get anything out without damaging the fabric.

Hope this helps! good luck!

Have no ideas for you, but YUCK! I believe that managers can't go in apartments without permission though. Hope poor kitty is ok. Good luck with the quilt.

I have looked her for Goo-Gone before, but never found it. I do have some "cheap" WD40 and will try that. ANYTHING! She loves this quilt and I don't want to have to cut it apart...that would leave ME sticky!

I just bought some of those traps. I was amazed how sticky they are. I hope our cat doesn't get on it. Put one under my kitchen sink in the back of the cupboard. I can imagine what a mess you have. Wish I had a solution for you.

I sure hope that works! It is heartbreaking. Wishing you a lot of luck. If you want, PM me your address and I will send you some Goo-gone just for safe keeping.

I am so sorry Terri!! I would try the goo-gone too. It is usually what gets sticky off for me. Let us know if you need anything mailed to you to help get it out. Then go after that apartment manager with the business end of a broom. He is the RAT here!!!

The apartment management company KNOWS they are wrong. One reason why they are losing ALL their military tenents. Seems that once this new company took over, ALL the "good" the other company did went down the toilet.
I'd love to give them a piece of my mind (what's left of it), but they are in Hawaii and I'm out here in Guam. I'm just glad that daughter and son in law are out of there.
