Storing Quilts
#2
Here's some ideas. Pillowcases work the best or buy some archive safe paper and wrap the quilts in them. Do not store in plastic if it can be helped as it holds in moisture. Some people roll them up on those huge rolls that decorator fabric comes on. If using that be sure and cover the roll with archive safe paper. Than cover with a sheet.
Others on this board will have other ideas.

I would be cautious about leaving them folded for any lenght of time with out refolding. You can develop permanent creases in the quilt.
Do use pillow cases , so the quilt can breathe. If you must fold, take them out every few months and refold , being careful not to refold in the same place. I take mine out and layer them on a spare bed every few months for about a week, before putting them back.
At mimium a good reminder is when you change your clocks , its time to re-do ( refold , re- roll , rotate, etc) the quilts.

I have a lot of old quilts and all these ideas are good ones.
I'm guilty of collecting too many at one time so it's a big job! Some are in pillowcases, beds, etc.
I have too many to display and use but at least I'm off the buying antique quilts kick!
My kids only want the quilts I make so I'm going to sell some of them when the economy gets better.......maybe :D
