joining "tails" on binding...
#1
I need a little help with joining the tails on bias binding. I do a pretty good job now with my binding and mitering the corner.
However, if someone would give me some tips on how to join the "tails" of the binding so that it lays flat, I would appreciate it. I have been using Alex Anderson's photos in one of her books, and it is very good, but mine still ends up with a slight "hump."
Thanks, Mariah.
you can just pm me if you want.

Well, the rule of the thumb is to take the width of your binding and " double it" to figure out how much to overlap. (For example 2.5in binding would be a 5in overlap) But this didn't do squat for me, because it would lay flat but when I got to the end, there would always be some bunching. Then I actually got a walking foot, and my binding looks beautiful when I started binding with a walking foot. My binding looks perfect now.

The tute on this board, I'm sorry I forgot the member who wrote it, is the one that I understand the best. It's the one that marks the end of the starting tail with a pin and repeats over and over DO NOT REMOVE THAT PIN. do a search (advanced to show only tutorials)
