Default String Quilts- Ill show you mine, will you show me yours?

Im off to tackle the basket of strings ive accumulated... For me String Blocks are a no fuss, no stress block- just grab a string and sew ! So when im in the mood to sew but not in the mood to cut Ill grab my basket and off I go....

Here's one i made for my big brother... He keeps hinting he wants another.. lol. We'll see if he gets another, I have to make the normal 'one or everyone' first before he can have seconds.. lol..

Pattern: None, just something i came up with
Fabrics: strings from the scrap strings basket
    Quilting: all over meander
Size: aprox 10inch blocks (i think)

I made two of these. I don't remember exactly when I made them but it was at least 5 years ago. I pieced on newspaper squares and made half of the blocks all dark and half all white and then cut them on the diagonal and put them back together.

Oh, I LOVE this thread. I'd love to see more with pictures of certain types of quilts. Just the subject line "String Quilts" made me open it

Those first three are gorgeous. I never thought of doing them on newspaper!!!! Doesn't it take a long time to pull out all the newspaper strips though? I usually get a sheet at Goodwill and cut it up and use that, then use flannel for batting so it's not so heavy. Just beautiful job, ladies First one of mine was for my granddaughter. I am currently working on one in varied blues for summer.

I love them all.. I can't wait until I can do one.. I'm in the middle of five scrap quilts before.. Imagine making five of the same quilt, but no real pattern?

I just made two string blocks. I love them. They are soooooo easy. I am planning on making a quilt. I love looking at all the different designs you all have made with yours. I have tons of 2 1/2" scraps so I won't have to do any cutting for it. I think that will be my next project.
