This summer I was in Hobby Lobby and they were closing out their Sulky Thread. I bought a bunch of it, this morning I went to use some of it, had to take the scotch tape off with the mark down price and it left sticky stuff on the thread which in turn would not go through the needle yuk!
Any ideas how to get the sticky from the scotch tape off. Wish I would have taken it off as soon as I bought it.
Any help will be appreciated.

You might try rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and gently run it the direction of the thread?

If the alcohol doesn't work, I've used goo be gone, and it worked in similar situations.

I was thinking this too, but not sure what it would do to the thread

I thought about the Goo Gone, but then didn't want to suggest it because it is oil based (citrus oil), but oil nonetheless. Was afraid the thread would absorb it?

You should be able to just unwind the top layer off the spool and the sticky part should be gone.
