I tried searching for a previous topic on this, but I am not sure what kind of key words to use.

I was FMQ and moving along just fine, and then my bobbin ran out. I changed it, then KLUNK then the bobbin thread gets tangled. Okey dokey, I stop, untangle, check the bobbin and it looks ok. I look at the back of the quilt, and the stitching looks good for a few inches and then my back side of stitching has a loose loop every 8 stitches or so.

I rethreaded, and it does it again.

I rethreaded, cleaned the bobbin casing, set up, and again, the same thing.

Hmmm.

I walked away before I got upset. Tomorrow I will try using a different bobbin. Anyone else have an idea?

Change your needle, and see if that helps

I forgot to mention, I did. I thought maybe it had gotten minutely bent when the machine klunked. Still started looping up.

completely re-thread your machine ...I've done that to correct loopies

Is your presser foot up when you are re-threading? If it isn't it will start looping-found this out the hard way.

oooooooooooooooh, maybe. Its so easy to leave it down with you use the embroidery foot, so maybe.

Its just very frustrating to have everything goding great and then suddenly its messed up.

Yep rethread the whole machine. Someone here posted that bottom thread problems are because of a top thread issue.

I sometimes don't realize it is down. With my FMQ foot it looks the same. I called my machine shop the other day out of frustration and they told me what I did wrong.

When this happened with my machine there was a wooly booger under my bobbin race. Once I cleaned that out, the machine runs like a charm. Hope you find your problem and get it fixed quickly!!

Bet you left the pressure foot down when you re-threaded and your upper thread isn't in your tension discs. Re-thread like you would when you are doing regular stitching and I bet your problems will go away..... ask me how I know this one :oops: :oops: :roll: :roll:
