I have more books and magazines on quilting than will ever use.
But the easiest and best are Quilt in a Day. Her instructions are always the quickest and easiest to do. My best quilts are using her books.

Then Mary Ellen Hopkins' IT'S OKAY IF YOU SIT ON MY QUILT BOOK is great for reference.
I also like PATTERN PLAY by Doreen Speckman.

I love quilting books, magazines, brochures and can't get enough LOL....choosing just one is next to impossible for me. If I were stranded on a desert island with my supplies and could take just one book, it'd have to be Applique Quilt Revival: Updated Patterns from the 30s by Nancy Mahoney. It combines two of my favorites (for the moment) applique and 30s reproductions and it is absolute eye candy.

Picking one book would be like picking just one fabric. I like them all and I have more than my share. I'm always checking the used book store or even antique stores if I see they have books.
One I do reference alot is the Fons and Porter book. It is full of basic information on setting squares and triangles, borders and bindings.
What more can I say, they are all good, depending on my mood, the time of day or what is going on in my life.

I am a quilting book addict. I have vol.1 thru 8 of Better homes and Gardens Quilt Lovers Favorites. Several from House of White Birtches with Sandra Hatch editor. I just love them. I know I will never make all the quilts but they are sure fun to read and look to inspire Me.
