Does anyone have a "Sweet Sixteen" for FMQ? Do you like it? Did you buy it new or used? I tried one at a quilt show in Richmond and kind of liked it. I would really like to hear your opinions. Thanks.

I have the sit down version, bought it new about a year ago, and I love it. If you do a search at the top of the page, you will find several threads on the subject.Originally Posted by margaret53

I have been debating on which Longarm to buy...its really not easy to decide...and its not like there are stores of longarms out there. Hard to figure out which is the best and why one is better than the other.
which style are you thinking of... sit down or frame?
Sit down...
Love it! Got it the beginning of September just slightly used. (Other lady had it 4 months but didn't like sitting because it hurt her back so she upgraded to a standup HQ)
It was VERY easy for me to transition from my domestic to it. Same movements, etc. Even the dealer was amazed when I "practiced" at his shop. Because I test drove it prior to buying it.
I am not sure used ones are usually available. I felt like I got very lucky!
I got my sit down sweet 16 earlier this year and love it! I had a Grand Quilter and was already use to moving the fabric so there was no learning curve. I am completely satisfied and use a medical exam stool like Leah Day suggested. Works great!
I don't have one, but have been looking at them. I know I want the HQ...something..but not sure if I want the Avante' or the Sweet Sixteen sit down.
I keep thinking of the sandwiching of the quilts that I'd still have to do with the sit down model and that doesn't make me happy.
Thanks for all of your input. I did a search (duh, why didn't I think of that first:) and it seems as if everyone likes theirs.
