Has anybody here purchased one of those longarm machines with the tabletop, I am talking like the "George" from APQS or the QueenQuilter 18. Considering buying one, but like to hear from others who have one or have heard about them. Thanks!

I dont have one but what about the lazer function that long arms have to follow a design. George dosnt have that so you can only do free motion.

I am interested in this thread. I like the looks of the Handiquilter 16 sit down setup but not the price! Have an email inquiry in to Bailey's in New York to see if they have a sit down solution.

They look like nice machines but wouldn't you still be pushing and pulling the quilt through. It would be easier than a regular machine but if I was spending that much I would get one with a frame.

Yes, that is what I am looking for, free motion. I don't want the longarm with the frames setup. This is just something for personal use. A price that I could afford, it won't take up much room, and I can do free motion or as one brochure says, pantograms. They seem to be going for around $4,000 new. Any comments, please?

I should probably clarify my interest better than I did earlier. I had a Handi Quilter about 7 yrs. ago. Used it with my Juki. By the time I got the quilt on and started, it was time to roll it again, couldn't get a nice sized pattern accross the quilt because the space got limited every time you rolled the quilt. Sold that. I do not want to spend a lot of money on a longarm and frame. I have started working Leann Days designs, practiced, and enjoy quilting my own. Of course, I am not a pro, but practice does make near perfect! These tabletops would serve my purpose for a few reasons, 1, the space - we are presently downsizing, selling the house, so my sewing room would be much smaller. 2. I don't plan on making this a business, just a nice machine with a chair that has capacity for my quilt. 3., costs comes into play as I do not feel the need to spend over $5,000 +. So you see, I want something simple, but will keep me content on the fmq, stenciling part of the quilting. I am sure there are some of you who prefer to do your own quilting. This just seems like a very good way, and not as expensive. Anyone out there have a tabletop???? Let us know how you feel. Thanks,

I am in love with George, but it runs a little over $7,000. Is a great machine. I test drove it at a show and fell in love.
