I need some info about what type of fabric stabilizer to use when making a quilt from Mens Ties an where to get it. I need something to make the fabric stable and as as keep it from fraying.

You can buy it at JoAnns's. I'm sure they can tell you which one would be best.

IMO, the best kind of stabilizer to use for men's ties is fusible tricot. Last time I checked JoAnn's they had it, but pre-cut in plastic bags and relatively expensive. It's much cheaper to purchase it online from a drapery company. Here's where I bought mine:

Just search for "fusible tricot". I purchased the 60" fusible tricot interfacing, not the rolls.

Be aware that using a fusible will stiffen the tie fabric quite a bit. Even the fusible tricot does this; also makes the fabric thicker. However, the fusible tricot lets the tie fabric remain flexible.
