Default Is there another name for this quilt?

My grandmother hand pieced this top approximately 50 years ago. It was rescued and given to me to complete. Well, I've finally got it quilted. Now to make the label, bind and wash. Then send to another family member to use and love. But, I want to make sure I get the right name of the pattern on the label. Then I can finish it and pass it on.

I'd say that this is a variation of the traditional pattern my book call "cake stand", but I've seen similar ones under names like "flower pot" or "flower basket".

Flower Basket is what my dam called that pattern. Whatever, it is lovely and if I were you I would have a hard time parting with it!

I agree that it's flower basket. Beautiful quilt.

It would be hard for me to pass it on. It's beautiful. I've always known it as a "Flower Basket" pattern.

I think it's either cake stand or flower basket. What a wonderful treasure you have been given. I think I would have a hard time parting with it. The only things I have is a pair of pillowcases that my Mother embroidered, and a dresser scarf or two, but none of the quilts she made survived, especially after being used by 7 kids.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, it will be bittersweet to part with this quilt, but I feel honored and privileged to have the opportunity to finally finish it. It will be displayed on our guest bed until my brother and SIL come down for a visit. I love it, but it's just a thing. Nothing can replace the memories in my heart. And maybe someone else in the family can use it for another 50 years.
