mixing different fabrics
I am making a quilt using flannel and regular cotton for the top wondering about using homespun for the backing do you think it will work out. I have washed the flannel and the homespun

Sure it will work! As long as the homespun has been prewashed it is ready to go. One of my best quilts was top pieced with homespuns and regular cottons with a flannel back; 2 of my brothers really wanted that quilt. Homespuns & flannel makes such soft, cozy quilts!

I have also mixed them with success. Pre wash everything. Twice (I've had both homespun and flannel shrink on the second laundering). The up side is it makes the fabric thicker & more cuddly. The only thing I found was the homespun was very loosely woven, so I used a 1/2" seam.
