rsOur golden panics with thundetorms, fireworks and sounds of gun shots. We have had to use up to 10mgm of valium at times without much success. This was after Rescue Remedy and a stronger tranquilizer for dogs. Even if she thinks a storm is coming she starts pacing, panting, looking for a place to hide and scratching the carpets. This summer we have had a zillion (it seems)thunder storms, usually at night, lasting hours! 2 weeks ago I bought her a Thunder Shirt)www.thundershirt.com. Last Saturday we had major storms all day. When we heard about the forecast we put the shirt on Lucy. OMG....First of all she loved wearing it. Sort of pranced around like, "look at me in my new outfit!" The storms started, no pacing, no panting, no scratching the carpet or looking for a place to hide. We could not believe it! It is a miracle. Yesterday, storms all day....no problem. I was so sure it would not work. Was I ever wrong. If you have a dog that is anxious........get one. You will be amazed!

Very cool. Looks kind of like the weighted blankets that are used for some children with autisim and other sensory issues.

Wish they had them for cats...

My doggie day care recommends them also. They say be sure to put it on early enough so that the dog doesn't begin to associate the shirt with thunder.

My litle girl is happy laying in the bathtub for now. She is a better predictor than the weatherman.

We had the same problem, but with our Ciahuahua. He panics at the first sound of thunder. We'll have to look into the thunder shirt.

We had the same thing with our rescued 5 year old Shih Tzu female dog,

I got some unscented fabric softner sheets and rub on the back of her neck and now she loves the storms

try it, very in expensive (be sure to get the unscented ones)
