I like the first purple, but I would choose a darker green. However, having personally asked for other's opinions before and not listened, it's your quilt and YOU have to like it! Do post as you go, or post the two sample blocks when you get them made.

I like the second where you show the two pieces only and the first when you show the piece of question with the other materials which in fact, are the same piece but could be identified as either one or two! Right or wrong? However, I agrees that either will be beautiful .... More a personal choice

I'd go with the first option - the dark speckles pull out the darker tones in the floral & work with the dark blender as well. It's going to be lovely!

What I would do is off the wall. When all else fails; I would cut small pieces of the first choice and glue them to a piece of copy paper. Do the same with the second choice on the same paper etc.. Make a copy of the fabrics and when you look at the new copy, pick the fabrics which have the most contrast. Medium, dark and lights show up better on the copy. When the eye is tricked, the copy never lies. I understand you did not ask about contrast, but it needs to be considered, also.

The first photo is the two fabrics in question. In the second and third photo, the rose fabric is not as harsh a colour as it looks, and will be used for the center of the chain.
The lst one!

I love the floral but I really love floral fabrics :0) Just reading the first two pages of responses, it appears that the test blocks will give you the best 'feel' for what appeals to your eye. I personally like the softer blending of the second one, as it appears on my monitor.
